Morgann & Mitch at Drumore Estate

A Late Spring Wedding Wrapped in Peony Season

There is something especially magical about late May in Pennsylvania. The gardens are beginning to stretch into summer, the evenings soften, and peony season quietly arrives in all of its fleeting beauty. Morgann and Mitch’s wedding at Drumore Estate felt like it bloomed straight out of that exact moment in the season.

Their day was layered in the dreamiest palette of butter yellow, pale peach, blush pink, and soft ivory. Bridesmaids wore a mix of flowing floral prints and delicate solids that felt effortless and romantic against the historic estate grounds. Nothing felt overly styled or forced. Instead, the entire celebration carried that airy, garden-inspired feeling that makes spring weddings so unforgettable.

The floral design centered around the beauty of local flower season here in Pennsylvania. Late May is one of the richest moments for specialty blooms, and we leaned fully into it. Fragrant peonies, layered ranunculus, garden roses, lisianthus, and delicate seasonal textures created bouquets that felt lush yet natural, almost as if they had just been gathered from the garden that morning.

One of the most beautiful parts of working with seasonal flowers is that they simply move differently. Peonies open wider throughout the day, ranunculus unfurl petal by petal, and every arrangement evolves as the celebration unfolds. There is a softness and movement to locally grown flowers that cannot be replicated, especially during peony season when everything feels abundant and alive.

The bouquets were intentionally designed with a loose, gathered feel to complement the romantic setting of Drumore Estate. Soft peach roses melted into blush ranunculus and buttery blooms, while pops of vibrant coral peony tones added depth and energy throughout the designs. The result was refined but still organic, elevated without losing the feeling of springtime ease.

Even the smallest details reflected the overall aesthetic of the day. Embossed vow books, heirloom-inspired paper goods, watercolor venue illustrations, and floral patterned linens all tied together beautifully with the garden palette. Every element felt thoughtful, timeless, and quietly luxurious.

Morgann and Mitch’s wedding was the perfect reminder of why we love designing during the spring season so much. The flowers tell the story almost effortlessly. When paired with a venue as romantic as Drumore Estate and a couple so genuinely joyful together, the entire day felt soft, elegant, and deeply personal.

A celebration wrapped in petals, spring raindrops, and the very best of local flower season.
