A Dark & Moody Garden Wedding at Domaine Pterion

This dark and moody garden wedding at Domaine Pterion was designed to feel immersive, romantic, and deeply intentional. The overall palette blended natural tones with black accents and warm gold details, creating a look that felt elevated yet grounded in the surrounding landscape.

Dahlias were the star of the floral design, adding depth, movement, and organic texture throughout the day. Florals were thoughtfully concentrated on moments that mattered most, with an emphasis on the bridal party, parents, and a few key focal features that shaped the experience. Rather than decorating every surface, the design focused on creating impact where guests would naturally gather and connect.

One of the most transformative elements came together during the final consultation, when smilax greenery was incorporated and installed along the beautifully restored barn beams. Draped overhead, the smilax created a seamless connection between the outdoor ceremony and the indoor reception, softening the architecture and drawing the eye upward in a way that elevated the entire space.

Reception tables were styled with candlelight and ruscus greenery, allowing the overhead installation to remain the focal point while creating a warm, intimate atmosphere. Ceremony florals were thoughtfully repurposed to frame the sweetheart table, extending their presence into the reception and reinforcing a cohesive design story.

Surrounded by family and friends all day, the couple’s celebration felt heartfelt, personal, and full of connection. This wedding was a beautiful example of how intentional floral design, guided by seasonality and thoughtful planning, can create an experience that feels truly custom and unforgettable.
