Meet Kelly

With over 20 years of experience in horticulture and floral design, Kelly Piccioni blends her background in education, agriculture, and artful styling to craft unforgettable events. A former horticulture educator of 12.5 years and now a Penn State Extension Educator, Kelly brings both scientific expertise and creative vision to every floral installation.

She is the owner and lead designer of Events by Kelly’s Florist, specializing in bespoke wedding and event florals that celebrate seasonality, movement, and the natural beauty of American-grown blooms. In 2025, Kelly was honored to be selected as a featured designer for the prestigious 112th First Lady’s Luncheon in Washington, D.C.

Her work proudly promotes the use of domestically grown flowers and foliage, supporting local farms and sustainable floral practices. Whether designing for intimate gatherings or large-scale celebrations, Kelly’s mission is simple: to create heartfelt, timeless designs that leave a lasting impression.

The Team

We’re proud to be part of a remarkable community of wedding professionals who believe in collaboration over competition. Surrounded by creatives who inspire, challenge, and support one another, we push boundaries, elevate beauty, and deliver unforgettable experiences. It’s never just about flowers, photos, or timelines—it’s about a shared passion and the magic that happens when talented people come together with heart and intention.

At Events by Kelly’s Florist, we don’t simply design florals—we create for the most intimate and meaningful moments in people’s lives. Whether it’s a wedding, a memorial, or a milestone celebration, we treat every occasion as an honor and a privilege.

Team EBKF approaches every project with the same dedication: crafting top-quality designs and providing exceptional service. We strive to exceed expectations and make the floral-planning process as seamless and joyful as the event itself, collaborating closely with local vendors so every detail feels personal, effortless, and deeply memorable.

Why Plants and Flowers?

I didn’t just grow up around plants; I grew up in horticulture. As a fourth-generation tree farmer, the green industry is part of my identity. My great-grandfather started selling Christmas trees during the Great Depression just to ensure his daughters had presents under the tree. That small act of devotion sparked a tradition. My grandparents later planted their own trees, and my father, one of five siblings, took the greatest interest, launching his own farm and landscaping business. Lucky for me, he passed down the passion.

My two sisters and I spent our childhoods on the farm planting seedlings, digging trees, hauling water, and shearing in the heat. Some jobs we loved, others… not so much. But through it all, we learned the value of hard work, family, and cultivating something from the ground up.

When it came time to choose a path, ornamental horticulture felt like a natural extension of who I was. I studied at Delaware Valley College where I also played a lot of field hockey, then completed my floral design training at Hixon’s School of Floral Design in Cleveland. Just ten days after graduating, I opened my first floral shop and haven’t looked back.

Since then, I’ve managed my father’s wholesale nursery, taught horticulture for 12.5 years, and today, I proudly serve as a Penn State Extension Educator. I’m deeply rooted in this industry with a profound appreciation for American-grown flowers and foliage, local farms, and the dedicated people behind them.
